A board meeting dedicated to the results of the past year and the tasks ahead was held at the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.
It was emphasized that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, our country developed comprehensively last year, with dynamic socio-economic progress. Particularly, large-scale construction works were carried out for the revival of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, as well as for the successful continuation of the return of internally displaced persons to their native lands, and security measures were taken. It was noted that the visits of our head of state and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to the liberated territories, and their personal examination of the implementation of events related to the Great Return, have created deep satisfaction and gratitude among the internally displaced persons.
The board meeting discussed the implementation status of measures under the priority directions of the First State Program on the Great Return, including propaganda-explanation, information and education, community-based reintegration activities, preparation of initial forecasts for the return of the population, the progress of relocation to newly established and restored settlements in the liberated territories, as well as ensuring efficiency in the committee's activities and effective use of funds allocated from the state budget. Reports from the heads of the relevant structural divisions were heard, criticisms, opinions, and suggestions were voiced.
Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev emphasized the importance of working with greater responsibility to fulfill the instructions of the country’s leadership and the tasks set. He stated that the comprehensive measures identified for the voluntary, safe, and dignified return of internally displaced persons to their native lands should be carried out sequentially and on time.
Relevant decisions were made on the issues discussed at the meeting.
