On November 19, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs jointly organized the next career expo for IDPs in “Gobu Park-2” residential complex at Garadagh district, Baku.
Increasing the employment of IDPs is one of the most important areas of the state policy in the area of working with citizens of this category. According to the relevant State Program signed by the President Ilham Aliyev, measures are being taken to expand their employment opportunities and create vacancies for this purpose. The First Vice President, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva always keeps the issue of addressing the social problems of IDPs under control, and focuses on improving their living conditions, and providing them with educational, healthcare and other services.
Opening of the residential complex “Gobu park-2” was taken place on October 8 of this year. Currently, more than 11 thousands of IDPs in total live in the first and second complexes. It is important to hold an active employment event – career expo for unemployed and job-seeking people with working capacity. The purpose of such events is supporting the access of unemployed and job-seeking IDPs to the labor market and ensuring their employment.
The first career expo was held in Gobu Park last October. At today`s second career expo 644 vacancies from 54 companies were provided to IDPs. Representatives of the companies offering vacancies provided them with detailed information about the vacancies. Unemployed and job-seeking IDPs were provided with referrals for vacancies based on their professional skills, work habits and choices. People wishing to acquire new occupations in compliance with the requirements of the labor market were registered for vocational training and additional training courses.
Those wanting to work in paid public jobs were also registered.
It should be reminded that the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs jointly organized four career expos over the past year and a half in the settlements built for IDPs.
