The State Committee for Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan held the next board meeting.
It was noted that important issues were discussed at the meeting held by the President Ilham Aliyev regarding the socio-economic area and urgent tasks were set to be implemented. It was reminded that a very large social package, which was approved earlier this year - a significant increase in the amount of minimum wages, pensions and allowances covered more than 4 million people, including IDPs. It was mentioned that addressing the social problems of refugees and IDPs is always in the center of attention of the head of our state. Purposeful consistent measures are being taken to improve their housing and living conditions and increase employment. Instruction of the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva on relocation of IDPs living under the most severe conditions, temporarily settled in dangerous places to new apartments in the first place is being executed.
A number of important issues related to the activities of the State Committee were discussed, reports of the heads of relevant commissions on allocation of temporary residential areas from the state housing fund in the settlements newly built for IDPs and provision of single monthly allowances were listened to at the board meeting.
It was underlined that the 104th modern residential complex was put into use in Pirallahi district of Baku on July 5 of this year, and construction of new residential complexes in various regions of the country continues.
The progress of upgrading the electronic information system in the State Committee was widely discussed at the meeting.
It was noted that the registration of IDPs at relocation sites had completely been stopped, and the local sectors and representative offices had been instructed not to register without approval of the committee. In this regard, the monthly reports of local sectors and representative offices are being checked and negligent employees are subjected to penalties. Due to shortcomings in the registration of IDPs, the heads of Narimanov and Sabunchu district sectors of the Committee were subjected to administrative measures.
Progress of the work on allocation of lands in Baku and other regions of the country in order to improve the housing and living conditions of IDPs, increase in the employment of IDPs, preparatory work for the upcoming autumn-winter season, exploitation state of apartments in the settlements in which the relocation is completed and problems faced in this area were discussed and other issues on the agenda were considered at the meeting on the instructions of the head of our state. Specific measures were identified for each issue, and appropriate instructions were to structural divisions.
