The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons organized another infotour to Fuzuli, Lachin, Shusha, and Zangilan within the framework of the I State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories, as well as carrying out informational, promotional, explanatory, and agitation activities for the return of IDPs to the newly built settlements.
The participants of the infotour were informed of the work done in connection with the implementation of the measures enshrined in the I State Program and the performance of the tasks assigned by President Ilham Aliyev. Visitors were informed that the comprehensive restoration and reconstruction works carried out in Shusha under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev would ensure the elimination of the consequences of vandalism committed by occupiers in the city, creating opportunities for the swift return of local residents who have experienced internal displacement for many years to their homeland. The measures outlined in the State Program and implemented for the revival of the city have a continuous nature, involving the rapid reconstruction of the city's infrastructure in addition to the construction of new residential areas. Participants of the infotour, who are closely acquainted with the restoration and reconstruction works in the city, visited Shusha Fortress, the Mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif, the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, and the Jidir Plain.
The next visit of the infotour participants was the Lachin district. It was reported that, following the extensive restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the city of Lachin and the Zabuk village of the Lachin district, former internally displaced persons are returning to their native lands. Having familiarized themselves with the living conditions of the returning population in Lachin, the participants of the infotour visited the new workplaces and other infrastructure facilities created here, talked with the residents, and participated in the key handover ceremony for the families newly resettled to the Zabuk village. The participants of the infotour also visited the apartments of the residents who had returned to their homeland in the city of Lachin. The residents expressed their satisfaction with the created conditions in the village.
Later, the participants visited the city of Fuzuli, which had been dispersed and turned into ruins as a result of Armenian vandalism but was subsequently rebuilt after liberation, and the Aghali village in the Zangilan district, which was re-established based on the concept of a “smart village.” The participants familiarized themselves with the ongoing works, learned about the conditions created in infrastructure facilities, and talked with the residents who have brought new life to their native lands.
During the visits, the infotour participants took interesting photos related to the damages caused during the occupation and the ongoing restoration and reconstruction works. The photos taken were shared on the social media accounts of the State Committee.
Members of the Azerbaijan Photographers Union, as well as photographers working in various local and private organizations, participated in the infotour. The participants noted that the tour was productive and beneficial. Infotours to the liberated territories will continue within the framework of the Action Plan of the First State Program on the Great Return.
