The next meeting of the Public Council was held under the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs.
The Chairman of the Public Council, Anar Khalilov, gave detailed information about the results of effective interaction with the State Committee and the upcoming tasks. It was noted that the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the territories freed from occupation under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev evoke a deep sense of satisfaction in the former IDPs. Our compatriots from this category, surrounded by the attention and care of the head of state and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, are sure that the return to their homeland will be successful.
Noting with satisfaction that the Great Return has begun, it was emphasized that the experience gained in the initial stages of population relocation to Aghali village of Zangilan region will be of great benefit in preparing other internally displaced communities for the return process. The importance of the active participation of the Council members in the education and information works carried out by the State Committee in this field was brought to the attention, and ideas and suggestions regarding the expansion of activities in this direction were voiced.
The importance of ensuring operational communication between the Public Council and the State Committee was noted, and it was said that this practice played a positive role in solving the issues of concern to the IDPs.
Chairman of the State Committee, Rovshan Rzayev, who attended the meeting, thanked the members of the council for their efficient activities, emphasized that their opinions and suggestions are always valuable, and public participation in the implementation of state policy in the field of work with IDPs is important.
At the meeting, it was noted that preparing the IDPs for their return to their homeland is now the most important issue, detailed exchange of views was held on this and other relevant issues, and the directions of activities were determined.
