On April 1, meeting with parents of martyrs of April battles and internally displaced journalists was held at the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons. Members of the Public Council under the State Committee attended the meeting.

Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev stated that the meeting coincided with the third anniversary of the April battles, that the victory earned by the Azerbaijani army in these battles was a historic event and showed the power of our state and the determination of our people to fight to the whole world.

Memory of the martyrs was commemorated with respect.

Then the Chairman of the State Committee gave information about the works done in the field of deals of refugees and internally displaced persons, the measures taken to address the social problems of the citizens of this category, including improvement of housing-living condition.

It was noted that according to the instruction of the President Ilham Aliyev, the works done in this field were accelerated. 102 settlements have been built for the internally displaced persons so far and currently construction of new residential complexes is under way. Task of the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva on provision of internally displaced persons still living in the most severe condition with new apartments is implemented. In addition, special attention and care is paid to the solution of housing problem of the martyrs’ families, internally displaced persons with the status of war invalid and veteran. More than 200 internally displaced families have been provided with new apartments in the residential complexes commissioned recently in the territory of Absheron district and Sumgayit.

Parents of the martyrs Seyfaddin Gurbanli, Nigar Azizzada and Ziba Asgarova spoke with satisfaction about their participation in the tree-planting campaign held in honor of the April martyrs in Shikharkh settlement in the territory of Nagorno Karabakh a day ago and expressed their gratitude to the State Committee for such an initiative.

Members of the Public Council Elshad Eyvazli, Umud Mirzayev, Emin Hasanli, internally displaced journalists Gunay Malikgizi, Zaur Ahmad, Elmaddin Muradli, Namig Mailov, Imdad Alizada made speeches at the meeting.

Chairman of the State Committee shared his opinions about media coverage of the issues related to the internally displaced persons and answered journalists’ questions.
