In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and in line with the schedule of citizen receptions held in cities and districts by the heads of central executive authorities and other governing bodies, the Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Rovshan Rzayev, held a reception for citizens on March 17 in the newly established city of Jabrayil. During the reception, appeals mainly from residents of the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts were reviewed. Members of the Council of Elders of the Jabrayil district also took part in the reception.
The citizens’ appeals mainly covered issues such as the organization of the Great Return, the allocation of special-purpose housing from the state housing fund, the repair of temporary housing, the provision of the unified monthly allowance, employment, and other related matters.
It was noted that improving the living conditions of internally displaced persons and increasing their employment opportunities are among the key priorities of President Ilham Aliyev’s social policy. First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention and care to people in this category. Currently, one of the main tasks set by the head of state is to accelerate the return of former internally displaced persons to the liberated territories and their native lands, and to ensure safe and decent living conditions there.
Citizens were informed that the return process is successfully ongoing and is being carried out in stages, with priority given to those living in the most difficult conditions in temporary settlements. Some of the issues raised during the reception were resolved on the spot, while others will be reviewed in the short term and forwarded to the relevant state authorities.
