In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and in line with the schedule for the reception of citizens by the heads of central executive authorities and other administrative bodies in cities and districts, the Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Rovshan Rzayev, received citizens in the city of Aghdam on May 15.

Residents from the districts of Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend took part in the reception. The majority of the citizens’ appeals concerned the registration and organization of return, the unified monthly allowance, employment, and other social protection measures.

It was emphasized to the citizens that improving the living conditions and enhancing the employment opportunities of internally displaced persons have always been priority directions in the social policy of President Ilham Əliyev, and that the First Vice-President, Mehriban Əliyeva, pays particular attention and care to this category of people. It was noted that one of the most important tasks set by the Head of State at the present stage is the implementation of reconstruction and rehabilitation works in the liberated territories, the creation of safe and dignified living conditions for former internally displaced persons, accelerating their return to their native lands, and ensuring sustainable settlement.

It was emphasized that the Great Return is successfully continuing and that, within this phased process, priority is given to relocating families living in the most difficult conditions in temporary settlements.

During the reception, a number of issues raised by the citizens were resolved on the spot. It was also stated that the remaining matters highlighted in the appeals would be reviewed in a short period and communicated to the relevant state institutions.
