Protection of the health of people in special need of social protection, including IDPs, is of the main directions of social policy pursued in our country. Each year, necessary measures are taken to conduct free medical examination for the population by the instruction of Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan. The First Vice President, head of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays constant attention and care to the health of citizens suffering from various serious diseases, having limited examination and treatment opportunities, including IDPs. On February 6, a mobile, free ophthalmological examination action was held in the new residential complex in Mushfigabad settlement of Garadagh district, Baku for IDPs in accordance with the traditions of compassion and humanism in our country, at the initiative of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, and with the organization of the Ministry of Health. The examination was carried out by a mobile doctor brigade of the National Center for Ophthalmology named after academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and specialized medical aid was provided to the patients. More than 150 IDPs underwent examination, they were given initial diagnosis and, if necessary, eyeglasses were advised. It should be mentioned that the doctor team of Baku branch of Turkey`s famous “Dunyagoz” clinic held a mobile, free ophthalmological examination at “Gobu Park” residential complex at the initiative of the State Committee last year. Moreover, the Republican Clinical Hospital named after academician M.A.Mirgasimov also supported the initiative of the State Committee and organized a free medical action for IDPs in Mehdiabad settlement of Binagadi district. Humanitarian actions were also carried out in the regions. Total of more than 100 residents were provided with medical services by the team containing 11 qualified doctors in the health action held at the initiative of the territorial representative office of the State Committee, and with the organization of the City Central Hospital administration in Yeni Chalabikhan settlement built for IDPs in Sheki. Such medical actions are planned to be held in other settlements built for IDPs as well.
