The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs held an event in Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil region. The martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan were commemorated at the event organized by the State Committee together with Jabrayil Region Executive Power. “Today I became sure once again that it is worth to sacrifice life for liberation of the homeland from occupation! Restoration of Jojug Marjanli, return of the local population to their homeland, beginning of the active life therein is the embodiment of respect and reverence to the spirit of our heroic martyrs. Every inch of our land liberated by the blood of our martyrs is sacred to us! We believe that thanks to the President Ilham Aliyev`s determination our native Karabakh will soon be liberated from occupation!” Sevinj Gurban, the wife of the martyr lieutenant-colonel, legendary scout Raguf Orujov, who was one of the heroes of the April war, said during the event. Later, Sabuhi Huseynov, the head of Jabrayil Region Department of “Karabakh War Disabled, Veterans and Families of Martyrs” public union, Ashraf Gahramanov, father of Ruhin Gahramanov, martyr of the April war, Ogtay Haziyev, resident of Jojug Marjanli, and others made speech and said that they support the policy pursued by the head of state on the liberation of our lands from occupation, highly appreciated the attention and care shown to the people who suffered from the war, including IDPs. It was noted that purposeful measures on addressing the problems of IDPs and ensuring their employment are being successfully implemented. The solution of social problems of our citizens from this category is always in the center of attention of the President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva as a priority issue. Restoration of Jojug Marjanli is of particular importance in this regard. After the event, a commemorative meal was held at the village mosque and everyone prayed for souls of martyrs. Villagers were given Qurban meat and pupils were given gifts.
