Rovshan Rzayev, the Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, received the the program director of Berghof Foundation of Germany for the Caucasus, Oliver Wolleh. The guests were informed about the current state of the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the measures taken by the Azerbaijani government to address the problems of civilians - refugees and IDPs suffering from this conflict. It was noted that improvement of the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons are of the priorities of the social policy pursued by the President Ilham Aliyev. The First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva always attaches great attention to the projects implemented in this area. The Chairman of the State Committee noted that he is highly satisfied with the activity of German humanitarian organizations in our country, especially the projects implemented related to IDPs. The guests thanked for the warm reception and informed about the projects implemented by Berghof Foundation in the Caucasus, including Azerbaijan. Views were exchanged on the continuation of the project “History and Memory – as a basis for dialogue” of the Foundation related to IDPs and future cooperation opportunities were discussed during the meeting.
