Rovshan Rzayev, the Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, spoke about the occupation of Shusha, one of the cultural capitals of Azerbaijan and tragedies of the Azerbaijani people caused by Armenia. The Chairman of the Committee said that Shusha was occupied by the enemy as a result of the lack of adequate protection of the city due to the incompetence of the Azerbaijani authorities at that time. He stated that the Armenian aggressors, who had committed violence against the civilians, destroyed the city, historical and cultural monuments and carried out the act of vandalism. Rovshan Rzayev spoke about the consistent policy pursued under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev to strengthen the state independence and restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and conveyed his confidence about the liberation of the occupied territories of our country to the event participants. He stated that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan will be ensured as a result of the resolute position of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Making a speech, heads of “Karabakh War Disabled, Veterans and Families of Martyrs” public unions, warriors spoke about the violent acts committed by the Armenian armed forces in Azerbaijan. They said that the occupation of Shusha was a genocide committed by the Armenians against the culture of our people, along with the genocide against our people. Then a film about the history of Shusha city was shown. At the end of the event commemorative photo was taken with the heads of “Karabakh War Disabled, Veterans and Families of Martyrs” public unions of the occupied regions - Shusha, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Gubadli, Lachin, Zangilan, Khojali and Khojavand.
