On August 23, Rovshan Rzayev, the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, met with the citizens who registered for the appointment in advance

It was mentioned that President Ilham Aliyev always pays attention to issues related to IDPs. Moreover, preparations are underway for return of IDPs to their homeland. The measures taken to ensure the process include provision of security measures in liberated areas, infrastructure projects and construction of residential buildings.

 It was noted that First Vice-President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva controls the resolution of issues related to IDPs and gives special attention to their appeals.

The first stage of return to Aghaly village, which was reconstructed using the concept of "smart village" in Zangilan district, has already been completed - at this stage, some 41 internally displaced families moved to the village. At the same time, by the order of President Ilham Aliyev, the measures are being implemented for return of the residents of Lachin city, Zabukh and Sus villages to their native lands. The state will take all necessary measures to ensure their settlement and provide comfortable and safe conditions.

IDPs who had individual meetings with the chairman of the committee expressed their confidence that they will return to their homeland in the nearest future. Appeals of the citizens participating in meeting were mainly related to the improvement of housing and living conditions, utilities, status, monthly allowance, employment, return to the territories liberated from occupation, etc.

Citizens were informed that all appeals and issues will be reviewed and settled in line with the legislation.
