On March 4, Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons – Rovshan Rzayev met Ms. Preeti Sinha, Executive Secretary at UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and Mr. Zakaria Fellah, Senior Advisor of the Fund, visiting our country.

Visitors were informed on main directions of the Committee’s activity, as well as main goals and principles of the state policy in affairs of refugees and IDPs. It was noted that large scale measures had been taken to improve living conditions and increase employment opportunities for refugees and IDPs under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The first Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention and care for solution of social issues of such people.

Visitors were informed on restoration and reconstruction works in liberated territories, preparation for great return, reintegration and sustainable settlement and works carried out in the State Committee in this regard.

It was highlighted that within 30 years of membership to UN, Azerbaijan closely cooperated with this influential organization in all spheres, including provision of humanitarian aid to refugees and IDPs.

Executive Secretary at UN Capital Development Fund Ms. Preeti Sinha thanked for such warm reception and talked about the mission, international projects and cooperation perspectives of the organization with our country.

Issues of mutual interest were discussed in detail, questions of visitors were answered.
