On November 15, Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Rovshan Rzayev, Director of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ GmbH) for Azerbaijan Karin Hörhan and project manager Jörg Le Blank signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

A new phase of the project "Social and economic development of IDPs and local low-income people in the South Caucasus", implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the State Committee at the order of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) begins. The memorandum will ensure the implementation of measures planned at that stage.

In general, the project was launched in 2017. Over the past period, various activities have been carried out to support both the economic and social development of IDPs in Aghdam, Barda regions and the city of Mingachevir and the local low-income people living in the same area. Necessary measures will be taken to achieve the goals set in this area at the new stage of the project as well.
