The unity of our people, the strength of our state will allow us to return to our lands liberated from occupation, revive and give life to those places, and start a new life in our homeland. These opinions were voiced at the meeting with a group of IDPs held on November 13 at the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was noted that the victory achieved by our brave army under the resolute leadership of the honourable President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev arouses pride and hubris in every Azerbaijani.
Congratulating the meeting participants on the occasion of the victory, which resulted in the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country, Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev said that IDPs have always supported the head of state and his policy, and their great confidence and hope that Karabakh will be liberated from occupation thanks to this policy had already been fulfilled.
The memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and the liberation of our lands from occupation was commemorated with a minute of silence.
It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev successfully continued the state policy defined by National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of work with refugees and IDPs, and always paid attention and care to solving their problems. There have always been a special, sensitive approach to these issues in the activities of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, and the necessary steps have been taken to overcome the difficulties faced by refugees and IDPs. In the future, the state will take necessary measures for the return of IDPs to their homes and ancestral lands with dignity and safety.
“It is as if the Karabakh region, our beautiful historical land, will be reborn, revived and brought to life. Karabakh, an integral part and one of the most beautiful corners of Azerbaijan, will become a real paradise” - It was noted that these words of President Ilham Aliyev created pleasant feelings in every IDP about returning to their homeland.
Huseynov Gazanfar (Lachin), Fuad Salahov (Shusha), Najiba Aliyeva, Hasan Muzaffarli (Khojaly), Abil Zeynalov (Aghdam), Murad Aghayarov (Jabrayil), Elvin Alizada (Zangilan) and others among the IDPs spoke at the meeting. They said that the return to the lands liberated from occupation at the expense of the blood of the zealous and selfless sons of our people will be an important historical event, and IDPs preparing to return to their native lands with great enthusiasm and joy will take an active part in restoring their permanent residential areas and socio-economic development of those areas.
