The delegation of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan in France, which came to our country at the invitation of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, visited Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil region on November 15. Giving detailed information about the restoration work carried out in the village, which was under the control of the Armenian occupying forces for a while and was liberated in April 2016 as a result of successful counter-attack operation of the Azerbaijani army, under the instruction of the President Ilham Aliyev, Fuad Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee said that the people temporarily settled in different parts of our country are now living in a safe environment returning to their homeland. Return to Jojug Marjanli gave everyone a great hope and confidence that the other occupied territories will soon be liberated from the occupation as well and the “Great Return” will begin. Kamal Hasanov, Head of the executive power of Jabrayil spoke about the measures taken to improve the socio-economic state and ensure employment of the people returned to the village. It was noted that local and foreign organizations are implementing projects to provide job opportunities here. Later guests visited the house of Jojug Marjanli resident Ogtay Haziyev. He noted that despite the liberation of the village from the occupation as a result of the successful Horadiz operation in 1994 under the leadership of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the village was constantly being fired from the positions of the occupying forces at a close range. After the April war, the aggressors were forced to withdraw. Now all suitable conditions for living in a comfortable environment are provided in the village restored in modern style. Guests visited the mosque similar to Shusha mosque and other infrastructure facilities built in Jojug Marjanli and met with local community representatives. President of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan, former MP of the French Parliament Jean-Francois Mansel highly appreciated the work done in Jojug Marjanli. According to him, important measures should be taken to reveal the humanitarian catastrophe faced by the Azerbaijani IDPs to the international community. The Association and its members will also work purposefully in this area. French guests were accompanied by Mirvari Fataliyeva, head of Paris-Azerbaijan House during the visit.
