Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of SCR receives Villi Fautren, the Manager of the Belgian Organization of Human Rights Without Frontiers International

On 28 January 2011, Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of SCR, received Villi Fautren, the Manager of the Belgian Organization of Human Rights Without Frontiers International and Mrs Nadia Milanova, an employee of the organization. Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister, who welcomed the guests, expressed his gratitude to them for trying to gather materials on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, as well as Khojaly massacre, to meet with internally displaced from that region, convey the truth to the world community as it is. Having informed about the the Khojaly massacre, A.Hasanov said that in the early morning of 26th February 1992 Armenian armed troops attacked to armless and helpless Khojaly town with the support of Motorifle regiment N 366 of the USSR situated in Khankendi city. Sturdy shoots were fired from artillery and heavy machinery and the city was completely destroyed. The people who escaped from Armenian fire and run to forests and mountains lost their lives because of cold and frost. As a result of the barbarism of Armenian troops, 613 people from Khojaly population were killed, 487 people became disabled, 1275 elderly, children, women ere taken as hostages and suffered from incredible Armenian torture, insult and harassment. The destiny of 150 people is still undefined. A.Hasanov mentioned that this was actual genocide - unprecedented genocide in the history. Out of 613 people killed in Khojaly, 106 were women, 63 were children, and 70 were elderly. 8 families were killed completely, 24 children lost both parents, and 130 children lost one of the parents. In this crime 56 people were killed with extreme violence. They were either burnt alive, or their heads were cut out, or their faces were skinned. Eyes of infants were taken out; bellies of pregnant women were torn with bayonets. The Armenians insulted even dead bodies. In their turn the guests said that they would pass whatever they heard to the attention of the international community. At the end A.Hasanov expressed thanks to the guests on behalf of the Azerbaijani Government.
