Resettlement of IDPs in the new residential settlement in İsmayilli district was completed

The Head of State Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who has always declared problem of refugees and IDPs a priority issue for Azerbaijan, fully explaining his position, stated not even an inch of Azerbaijani land will be given to enemy and all the possible conditions would be created for amelioration of social conditions of IDPs living with harsh conditions in residential accommodation, the provision of their employment as long as peaceful negotiations were held. Due to daily care and attention of President to this field, solely in the current year, after transfer of IDPs temporarily settled in partially constructed building of First Aid Station of Binagadi district and in dormitories of Baku State University to block for 1440 families constructed in Mushvigabad settlement of Garadagh district, IDPs living in Finnish-type settlements whose useful life has ended and school buildings of Mingachevir city to newly constructed block for 502 families, IDPs inhabited in Dormitories of the State Oil Academy to small town for 760 families, relocation to 2 new 5-storeyed residential buildings for 155 families constructed in the area of block for 195 families that was put into service in 2010 for IDPs temporarily resided in objects, that require movement due to the construction work held for the development of tourism in the Gabala region was completed. These days movement process of IDPs living at schools to one more settlement that was newly put into service in Ismayilli district was completed and over a short period, 45 IDP families have been provided with new housing in the new settlement. As in other places, apartments in this settlement were also distributed according to family composition with the presence of representatives of the Executive Power and IDP communities by throwing lots. Settlement was fully provided with water, electricity and gas supply, road and street network, planting of greenery have been carried out at the highest level. Furthermore, 96-seat school building and dispensary have also been constructed. Each family received 12 sot backyard land area. Overall, at the cost of funds allocated by the State Oil Fund and other resources during 2003-2013 82 modern settlements with social-technical infrastructure were built with an area of 2.5 million square meters. Housing and living condition of 40.000 families and up to 180.000 refugees and IDPs has been improved. IDPs, who have been moved to new houses, expressed their deep gratitude to the country’s President Ilham Aliyev for creating this condition providing them with such apartments and emphasized that in the current condition this is the greatest gift, attention and care by the head of state
