Iranian guests were informed about the works carried out for the improvement of social conditions of refugees and IDPs.

The Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov met with the delegation led by the vice-president of the Iranian Red Crescent Society for health, treatment and rehabilitation Afshin Alikhani on 6 August. Development perspectives of bilateral relations, issues on Armenia –Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict were discussed and views were exchanged on a number of issues of mutual interest at the meeting. Highlighting deep religious, historic and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the expansion and prosperity of these relations. Various humanitarian projects are implemented in Azerbaijan by the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Ali Hasanov spoke of the history of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the works carried out for the improvement of social conditions of refugees and IDPs in our country. He stated that “Today Azerbaijan is able to liberate its territories in any way and by any means. “The chairman of the Committee also noted the works carried out by President Ilham Aliyev and the international organizations for the improvement of social and living conditions of refugees and IDPs in our country. It was stated that due to care and attention of the Head of State the problems of refugees and IDPs are being solved. 82 modern settlements were established for refugees and IDPs. More than 140 thousand refugees and IDPs have been accommodated in these settlements. At present, efforts in this direction are intensively in progress. Ali Hasanov noted that President Ilham Aliyev has already determined the strategic directions of the country till 2020. Eradication of poverty, minimization the dependence of economy on oil, raise of human rights protection in Azerbaijan to international standards, maximum strengthening of struggle against corruption and other issues are intended in the Development Concept “Azerbaijan 2020: A Look into the Future”. Ali Hasanov mentioned that Azerbaijan, which has more than a million IDPs, is developing and also hosts international events and forums. Azerbaijan has become one of the tolerant countries in the world. There is a mutual tolerant approach between the representatives of various nations and religions living in Azerbaijan. Extending his gratitude for warm welcome Afshin Alikhani spoke about the relations existing between the two countries and the works implemented by the organization that he represents. Underlining the rapid development of Azerbaijan the visitor noted that he was delighted for Azerbaijan’s achievements. Afterwards the Iranian delegation visited the dormitory of Baku Management and Technology College in Darnagul campus. They took great interest in the problems of IDPs from Aghdam region- members of martyr`s family Zumrud Guliyeva and Gandab Samadova. The delegation led by Afshin Alikhani had also visited the new block built for 1440 IDP families established at the Mushfigabad settlement of the Garadagh region. They were interested in the conditions created in the apartment of IDP Nazila Taghiyeva from Aghdam region. Expressing her wish to return to their homeland N.Taghiyeva expressed her gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan for created condition for them. The delegation got acquainted with the secondary school No. 33 of Aghdam region built for 1300 pupils in the block. It was emphasized that, all necessary conditions were created for exemplary training and education in this school with modern teaching equipments. The delegation highly appreciated the works carried out for improvement of social, living conditions of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan.
