Visit of the Representatives of the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre of Norwegian Refugee Council to the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs

The deputy chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs Garay Farhadov met with the head of Middle East, Europe, Caucasus and Asia Department of the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre of Norwegian Refugee Council Frank Smith and the researcher of that organization on Europe and Middle East, Ms. Nadine Valik. Firstly, the visitors got acquainted with the exposition and photo-stand reflecting numerous activities of Azerbaijan Republic for solving the problems of our refugees and IDPs step by step in the lobby of the State Committee for Deals of Refugee and IDPs accompanied by Garay Farhadov. Giving the detailed information about Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabagh conflict, its historical roots and reasons of the conflict, more than 1 million people living as refugees and IDPs as a result of Armenian military aggression, their poor social conditions and the works carried out by Azerbaijan Republic, Garay Farhadov said that, a lot of work was carried out for the solution of social- living problems of our citizens until the liberation of our territories. Emphasizing the establishment of the new blocks and complexes of multi-storey residential buildings in the different areas with the social-technical infrastructure and also the successful continuation of these works Garay Farhadov stated that, as noted by the head of our state Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the problems of refugees and IDPs were always on the focus as a priority issue. But though they are completely surrounded by the care and attention of the state, their main wish and problem is to return to the native lands. The confidence was expressed in the meeting that, Azerbaijan will achieve the restoration of territorial integrity and IDPs will return to their native lands as a result of successful policy of the head of our state. The visitors met with the IDPs settled in the hostel of Baku Management and Technology College, Mushvigabad settlement of Garadagh district, Ramana settlement of Sabunchu district, Bilasuvar and Beylagan regions within the visit program.
