Representatives of the European Parliament highly appreciated the conditions provided for IDP

The delegation led by the Chairman of the Political Group of the European Conservative and Reformists of the European Parliament, Martin Callanan, was at the newly established block for IDPs in Mushvigabad village of Garadagh region during their visit to Azerbaijan, on May 3. The deputy chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs, Garay Farhadov informed the guests acquainted with block that 1440 family or 5 thousand 756 IDPs would be moved to the new block. The area of the block is 22 ha. The club community centre, administrative building, medical centre, post office were built in the area. Garay Farhadov stated that 78 modern blocks were established, more than 140 thousand of people were moved to the new houses, educational, health, communication and cultural centres were built, appropriate infrastructure was created in order to improve social, living conditions of refugees and IDPs on the basis of tasks assigned by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. At present, the works are being conducted, the new buildings are being built, and blocks are being established in order to solve the problems, improve the living conditions of refugees and IDPs. Noting the occupation of Azerbaijan's historical territories by the Armenians, the deputy chairman said that Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno Karabagh conflict caused a large amount of damage to our country. People, ousted from their native lands live as refugees and IDPs now. The guests visited the house of an IDP Havva Hajiyeva from Aghdam region. They got closely acquainted with the conditions of the family, and presented memorial gift to the host. Expressing their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan, the family noted that all of them were longing for native lands. All necessary conditions are created by the head of our state. But despite all of this, our hearts are beating with Karabagh. We are waiting for returning to our native lands one day. The delegation got acquainted with the secondary school No. 33 of Aghdam region built for 1300 pupils in the district. It was emphasized that all necessary conditions were created for exemplary training and education in this school with modern teaching equipments. The book about “Ethnic cleansing in Armenia and information on over one million people having become refugees and IDPs upon occupation of 20% lands by Armenian military forces (1988-2011)” and the discs of film about conflict were presented to the European delegation. Then visitors came to the hostel No.2 of Baku Management and Technology College in Darnagul campus. The delegation inquired about the conditions of IDPs temporary settled here, and saw the room where IDP Abbas Aliyev from Fuzuli region lived.
