USA Ambassador got informed about the living conditions of IDPs

On March 5, the USA Ambassador to Azerbaijan - Richard Morningstar got acquainted with the living conditions of IDPs settled in Baku. The diplomat first visited hostel No 2 of Baku Management and Technology College in Darnagul campus. The Deputy chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs Garay Farhadov reported that 77 new settlements were built in the country's cities and regions, over 140 thousand compatriots were moved to new houses, educational, healthcare, communication and cultural centres were constructed, and relevant infrastructure was built under the tasks given by the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev to improve social and housing conditions of refugees and IDPs. Activities to solve refugees' and IDPs' social problems, improve their housing conditions continue, new buildings are under construction, and estates are being built at present. R.Morningstar visited nine-storied residential buildings constructed for 369 IDP families at house-building plant No 2 in Binagadi, Baku. Then R.Morningstar visited an estate newly built for 1440 IDP families in Mushfigabad, Garadagh. Having seen Aghdam region 1300-seat secondary school No 33, the diplomat was reported that all conditions for education were provided at the educational centre supplied with modern equipments. Care and attention by Azerbaijan's President to development of education proves that such an important factor has been included in necessary principles of state policy in recent years. The Ambassador got acquainted also with the conditions provided in apartments of of IDPs.
