New modern settlement built for IDPs in Imishli region was put into use

On November 14, there was opening of one more settlement built for IDPs in Imishli. The Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs – Ali Hasanov, MPs and heads of executive powers of IDP and surrounding regions and other officials took part at the event. First, the event participators saw the apartments, the Deputy Prime Minister presented to Fuzuli region IDP Jamal Sadigov’s family the keys of fully repaired, furnished and equipped three-room apartment on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev. The hostess, chair of the women's council of the settlement Asli Sadigova expressed her gratitude to the head of our state on behalf of IDPs for his attention and care. Then the event continued at the secondary school in the settlement. The Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov congratulated the IDPs on the occasion of opening of new settlement on behalf of the President Ilham Aliyev. Ali Hasanov congratulated the members of New Azerbaijan Party and all who support this political party on occasion of the 20th anniversary of this party’s establishment. The Deputy Prime Minister said Heydar Aliyev had always kept spotlight on problems of refugees and IDPs. And the President Ilham Aliyev, who decently continues the policy of Great Leader, gives attention and renders necessary aid to refugees and IDPs, and tries to solve their problems. In last few years, 72 modern settlements with all conditions have been built for refugees and IDPs, and nearly 120 thousand IDPs have been settled in those settlements. 4 more settlements will be put into use till the end of the current year and 20 thousand more IDPs will be settled in these areas. Construction of new settlements for IDPs will continue in the coming years, as well. After our lands are liberated, “the process of settlement” will be replaced with “return program”. Mentioning our state’s constant development under the direction of the President Ilham Aliyev, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Azerbaijan’s being selected a non-permanent member of UN Security Council, a number of important international events in Baku prove our state’s increasing influence, strengthened positions in the world. Then IDP from Fuzuli region Jamal Sadigov made a speech on behalf of refugees and IDPs, expressed his gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev, the President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva for attention and care. IDPs, provided with an apartment - Umidvar Agayev and Irada Miriyeva also thanked for attention and care to them. It should be mentioned for information that the new settlement has been built according to proper item of the Annex approved upon the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic on October 31, 2007, to “State Program for improving living conditions and increasing employment of refugees and IDPs” approved upon the Order of the President of Azerbaijan Republic on July 1, 2004. There were built new residential settlements, in the first stage, for 325 out of 550 IDP families temporarily settled in Finnish-type settlements in Imishli. The settlement cover 100 hectare (ha) area, 32.54 ha of which have been intended for construction and 44.96 ha as share of lands for IDPs to be moved to that settlement. 30 out of 325 apartments built in this settlement are one-room, 163 are two-room, 115 are three-room and 17 are four-room. Besides, 360-seat school, 50-bed kindergarten, club-community centre, administrative building, medical station were constructed in the settlement, as well. Construction customer is the Social Development Fund for IDPs. Electricity and gas supply of the settlement has been connected to communications of Imishli region. Boiling-house, Recreation Park, water reservoir and closed irrigation system in the length of 2.7 kilometres to water the land shares and surrounding areas, as well as drainage system in the length of 4 kilometres were constructed in the territory of the settlement. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with reconstruction works and the conditions created for IDPs in the area.
