European diplomats got acquainted with living conditions of IDPs

The delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan and Ambassadors of member states of the EU accredited to our country met with IDPs on June 27 in connection with World Refugee Day. At the meeting held on initiative of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs, diplomats first met with and inquired about the living conditions of IDPs temporarily settled in hostel of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University situated in Binagadi district. Inquiring about the conditions of hostel, diplomats saw the room where an IDP from Agdam region - Maharram Huseynov lives together with his family. M.Huseynov, emphasizing fulfilment of continuous actions by the government for eliminating their problems, stated that refugees and IDPs wanted to return to their native lands. Diplomats stated their belief for refugees and IDPs’ returning to their native lands in a short period of time and said they would inform the public of countries they represented about the conditions of refugees and IDPs. Then the European diplomats got acquainted with living conditions of IDPs temporarily settled in Ramana settlement of Sabunchu district. The deputy chair of SCDRI Garay Farhadov mentioned that the settlement built for IDPs in the area of Ramana was put into use of 1315 habitants of Malibayli village. He brought to attention that IDPs from Agdam, Lachin, Fuzuli, Khojavand regions, as well as from Khojaly city occupied by Armenians also settled in this township together with villagers of Malibayli. The head of the delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Roland Kobia stated that they always kept in mind the conditions of refugees and IDPs, also emphasized that meeting of the European diplomats with IDPs and inquiring about their problems is estimable. It is pleasant that everybody, including IDPs, supports Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be solved through peace. In the end, literary and artistic composition was performed by the pupils of Malibayli village children’s music school.
