Care and attention of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic to refugees and IDPs was always highly appreciated by the international organizations

On June 7, an event in the subject of “Results of military aggression of Armenian armed forces against Azerbaijan, state care to refugees and IDPs” was held within the framework of the seminars held in 2011-2012 academic year in Caucasus University. After the hymns of Azerbaijan and Turkey were sounded, rector of Caucasus University, Professor Ahmad Sanich made a speech and said that the university has been functioning for 20 years as a result of the care and attention of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the President Ilham Aliyev. During this period the institution of higher education achieved great success and operated resolutely. Making a speech, the Deputy Prime Minister and chair of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov spoke about the history of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and stated that after M.Gorbachev was elected the head of Soviet Union, Armenians enjoying his sympathy made their claims of creating “Great Armenia” more active. In 1988-1992, ethnic cleansing policy was carried out against Azerbaijanis in Armenia. The chair of the Committee said that UN Security Council adopted four resolutions in 1993 and required Armenian armed forces to promptly and unconditionally free the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. But official Yerevan doesn’t obey any of these resolutions. A.Hasanov gave information about the places of residence of refugees and IDPs, actions fulfilled for the solution of their social problems. He stated that 71 new settlements have been built for refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan up to this date. One hundred twenty thousand refugees and IDPs have been moved to these settlements. Speaking about the success internationally gained by Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov said that being elected as non-permanent member of UN Security Council with the support of 155 states, hosting “Eurovision-2012” song contest are obvious case for Azerbaijan’s growing reputation in the world. Besides, according to the decision made by UN Economic and Social Council, Azerbaijan was selected as member of High Commissariat for Refugees Executive Committee of the organization and this is one of the achievements of our state that it has reached on a global scale. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the care and attention of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic to refugees and IDPs was always highly appreciated by the international organizations. Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, who is on visit to Azerbaijan, called the activities carried out by the head of our state in this direction an example for other states. Then A.Hasanov answered the questions of the event participants. The chair of management board of “Çağ” Oyretim Isletmeleri Company Enver Ozeren , who made a speech at the event, spoke about the care and attention of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the President Ilham Aliyev to education. He stated that only this care and attention caused a lot of achievements of the company. E. Ozeren brought to attention that “Çağ” Oyretim Isletmeleri Company will always be true to confidence of the Great Leader and the President Ilham Aliyev with its successful activity. A video and documentary “Homesickness… unquenchable hope” reflecting ideas of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey about “Çağ” Oyretim Isletmeleri Company were demonstrated at the event.
