New modern type settlements are being constructed in Imishli region for internally displaced persons.

Solution of housing problems of internally displaced persons is in the center of attention of the President of Azerbaijan. According to the instructions of the head of our state, internally displaced persons living in tent camps were moved to the modern type settlements with all the infrastructures. At present, new settlements and small towns are being constructed for internally displaced persons living in Finnish-type settlements. One of such settlements is being constructed in Imishli region. The Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs, Ali Hasanov came to the new settlement constructed for internally displaced persons in Imishli region on June 5, got acquainted with the course of construction works and held meeting with the heads of the construction companies. The Deputy Prime Minister was informed that construction of 550 houses is planned in the settlement that will cover 100 hectares of land. At the initial stage 325 houses will be built. 30 out of these houses will be one-room, 163 two –room, 115 three- room and 17 four- room. In addition to this, there will be school for 360 pupils, kinder garden of 50 places, administrative building, club, and medical station in the settlement. Asphalt will be laid down the roads of the settlement, construction and landscaping works will be carried out. Completion of the construction of the settlement in the near future is planned. The Deputy Prime Minister gave instructions and recommendations to the businessmen and contractors. Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs also met with internally displaced persons, interested in their concerns, and gave instructions to the heads of the relevant organizations on solving the existing problems.
