Project of FAO, jointly financed by the governments of Azerbaijan and Switzerland on “increasing powers on development of villages for IDPs settled in newly built settlements of Agdam region” was completed

State and government figures, deputies of Milli Majlis, collaborators of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), also of Embassies of Brasilia and Switzerland in Azerbaijan, visited Agdam region, led by Ali Hasanov - the Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees. The aim of the visit was to take part in exhibition and sale of agricultural products organized in connection with the completion of the project of FAO, jointly financed by the governments of Azerbaijan and Switzerland on “increasing powers on development of villages for IDPs settled in newly built settlements of Agdam region” and at the official closing ceremony of the project. The participants of the event were at first introduced the sale exhibition of agricultural products in front of State Drama Theatre situated in Guzanli township, Agdam region. Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs, Ministry of Agriculture, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Embassies of Brasilia and Switzerland in Azerbaijan, international and local organizations, Agdam region Executive Power and FAO, also farmers took part at agricultural fair. The Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov and the Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov, who got acquainted with the fair, expressed their satisfaction with the demonstrated products and services. Then official closing ceremony of the project was held in Agdam region Executive Power. The Minister of Agriculture Ismat Abasov mentioned the importance of the projects realized in our country with the support of FAO, and emphasized the President Ilham Aliyev’s constant attention to the development agriculture. The Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov said: “Azerbaijan is able to worthily contribute to ensuring food security in the world. But as international organizations are aware, aggressive Armenia’s keeping Azerbaijan territories under occupation doesn’t let us realize this wish”. He also mentioned that after the expansionist policy of Armenia was put an end under the pressure of international community, Azerbaijan would prove itself in this field. The Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov expressed his satisfaction with the results of the project and its benefit for lives of IDPs, stated that it was very important to continue that. Ali Hasanov, mentioning that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev considered the problems of refugees and IDPs priority, reminded the great activities of the President Ilham Aliyev in this sphere, noted successful activity of FAO in Azerbaijan, and thanked to international organizations for their aid. At the end, the participants of FAO project – farmers were awarded certificates.
