On the eve of Gurban Holiday the humanitarian aid by RF MES was delivered to Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of International Humanitarian Assistance Committee of the republic Mr. Ali Hasanov met with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russian Federation, Mr. Nikolay Zelenyuk and Mr. Dmitriy Qolubkov, who brought to Baku humanitarian aid for refugees and IDPs within the framework UNO World Food Program, and the Counselor of Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan Mr. Alexander Trofimov. Mr. Ali Hasanov presented his condolences due to recent death of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexander the II. Mr. Ali Hasanov also briefed guests on the UNO World Food and mentioned, that during 1993-2008 years there were provided humanitarian aid to refugees and IDPs in our country in amount exceeding 115 million USD. He also mentioned that it is not the first time when Russian MES provides humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs affected in the result of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. For instance in December 2007 the ministry sent humanitarian aid to our country in amount of 2 million USD. Also in January 2008 there was provided aid to refugees and IDPs. At that time N. Zelenyuk who accompanied the humanitarian assistance together with the head of UNO World Food Program representative Mr. Linn Joys paid visits to the places of refugees and IPDs location in Mingechevir and Barda. Mr. Ali Hasanov emphasized that this aid has special importance especially after completion of UNO World Food Program activities in our country and closing of their office in Baku. On the eve of Gurban Holiday the purposeful humanitarian aid by Russian MES in the amount of half million USD was delivered to internally displaced persons settled in Agdam, Fizuli and Bilesuvar regions. Nikolay Zelenyuk mentioned that the humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs was issued based on the Decree dated on June 12, 2008 by Prime Minister of Russian Federation Mr. Vladimir Putin, on additional dedicated financing of humanitarian aid for the population of Azerbaijan Republic. On December 11th the guests will travel to Belasuvar region and will get acquainted with the distribution of the humanitarian aid in place.
