The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the delegation headed by the representative of UN Secretary General on human rights of internally displaced persons Walter Kälin on May 24. The head of our State emphasized that the visit of the delegation headed by the representative of UN Secretary General on human rights of internally displaced persons Walter Kälin to our country was a good opportunity for getting closely familiarized with the condition of our over one million compatriots who got into the state of refugee and forced settlers. The head of our State noting the condition of refugee and forced settler into which our over one million compatriots got as a result of aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan talked about the measures taken in the direction of improving their social condition more comprehensively and said that those measures were one of the directions of higher-priority in the policy of Azerbaijan State. The head of our State noted that the Azerbaijani side would try best thereafter in the direction of elimination of this injustice in order to put an end the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and within the frame of settling Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The representative of UN Secretary General on human rights of internally displaced persons Walter Kälin reminded his visit to our country in 2007 and the discussions conducted in respect to the state of refugees and internally displaced persons during the meetings held during that visit. Walter Kälin noted that he got closely familiarized with the state of refugees and internally displaced persons both in Baku and regions during his visit of this time, as well as he noted amusedly that very tremendous works had been done in Azerbaijan in this direction since 2007.
