On December 12, the staff of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor.
The memory of Heydar Aliyev, the founder and builder of the independent Azerbaijan, is dear to every Azerbaijani. Refugees and IDPs who had to left their homeland as a result of the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict have always felt the care and attention of the Great Leader. The first state program was made and implemented to address the problems of refugees and IDPs at his initiative and guidance. After the successful oil strategy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev began to bring results, the initial funds of the State Oil Fund was aimed at improving the housing and living conditions of IDPs. At the same time, at the initiative and call of the Great Leader, international organizations began to provide assistance to IDPs, and this prevented a humanitarian catastrophe.
Our prominent President Mr. Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the state policy established by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the field of work with refugees and IDPs. Azerbaijani government is constantly working on addressing these problems, the priority instructions defined by the President Ilham Aliyev are consistently fulfilled. At the initiative and under the leadership of the First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, large-scale projects are being implemented. Attention is being paid constantly to the issues of social protection of IDPs, improvement of their housing and living conditions and increasing employment opportunities.
106 settlements supplied with all necessary infrastructures were put into use to improve the housing and living conditions of IDPs. It is planned to complete construction of new residential complexes in Baku as well as in different regions, including Shirvan, Kurdamir, Ujar, Goychay, Goygol and Takhtakorpu settlement of Aghjabadi by the end of this year. Thus, 3700 more internally displaced families will be provided with new apartments. Consistent measures are being taken in this area.
The staff of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs commemorated the National Leader Heydar Aliyev with deep respect and laid flowers at his grave.
