Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Rovshan Rzayev answered reporters’ questions at a press conference at the headquarters of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP).
In his speech, the Chairman of the State Committee provided information on the state policy aimed at improving the living conditions of IDPs:
Two days ago, President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Gobu Park-2 residential complex built for IDPs in the Garadagh district of Baku. It will house 1,300 families. Private sector installs kitchen furniture in those apartments. Refrigerators are given as gifts. Namely, this is a rule in the apartments built by the private sector. The State Committee provides the apartments with kitchen appliances. Currently, a draw started in this regard. Apartments are distributed according to the number of families.
By the end of this year, a total of 6,000 apartments will be built and given to the use of IDPs. More than 3,700 of the apartments built by the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, and the rest with the help of the private sector. Some settlements built for IDPs are ready, and some are under completion. 685-family settlements in Shirvan city, 146-family individual houses in Beylagan region were built and are now handed over to IDPs. They live there. A building in Goychay region is ready for delivery. Settlements are being built in Goygol and Ujar districts. 560-family settlements in Kurdamir will be handed over in the coming days.
