200 more internally displaced families were given new apartments

The State Committee for Refugees and IDPs continues to relocate internally displaced families to apartments in the new residential complex built and put into use in Absheron district. For this purpose, the next drawing was held in Sumgait on February 19. Officials of Sumgait City Executive Power, representatives of the executive powers of occupied regions and IDP communities and journalists watched the drawing organized by the relevant commission of the State Committee. Through the drawing, No. of building and aparment to which 200 internally displaced families will move, was determined. By now, they have lived in dormitories and other administrative buildings in Sumgait city and Absheron district. During the event, it was informed about the works done in recent years to improve the housing and living conditions of IDPs. It was noted that more than 100 new settlements and residential complexes, which have all social and technical infrastructure, are in their use now. The works in this field have been further accelerated by the instruction of the President Ilham Aliyev. During the meeting with residents of Sumgait a few days ago, the head of our state said that additional residential complexes consisting of 2 thousand apartments will be built this year for internally displaced families temporarily settled in the city. The First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva`s instruction about provision of internally displaced families living under the most severe and life-threatening conditions in Baku and Sumgait with new apartments in the first place is being executed. Noting that they are satisfied with the distribution of apartments transparently based on the existing legislation and social justice principles, IDP Khayal Mammadov from Gubadli, Abdulla Aghamaliyev from Lachin, Alovsat Gurbanov from Aghdam, Ikram Haziyev from Fuzuli and others who attended the drawing expressed their gratitude to the President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, who pays attention and care for improvement of their housing and living conditions. Necessary infrastructure facilities – club-community center, medical station, ATS building, recreational park, children`s playgrounds were built in the residential complex built for 1000 internally displaced families in Absheron district. Also a new school and kindergarten were put into use herein. Broad renovation and planting of greenery works were done in the area. Special attention was paid to the construction of electricity, water, gas, heating supply and irrigation systems, communication and television network.
