Meeting with Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Held

On August 16 Deputy Prime Minister, Chairperson of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs and Chairperson of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov met with Husnan Bey Fananie, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to our country. At the meeting, noting the rapid development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia, Ali Hasanov emphasized that Indonesia is one of those friendly countries who acknowledged the independency of Azerbaijan first, and that our countries cooperate with each other in an efficient manner within international organizations. Ali Hasanov said that two countries collaborate in political, economic, educational, cultural, investment and other fields, and stressed the importance of expanding these ties. Speaking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the deputy Prime Minister mentioned that the important international organizations have made decisions on the solution of this problem. However, all of these decisions remain inconclusive. Neglecting the international documents and demonstrating an unconstructive position Armenia is still keeping our lands under the occupation. At the meeting, Ali Hasanov noted that if we take a glance at the conflict zones over the world we would find out that Muslim countries today are played off against each other, and most of the dead during these conflicts are Muslims. Therefore, Azerbaijan's President Mr. Ilham Aliyev has always considered the unity of Muslim countries necessary. If this solidarity would not be strengthened the processes will continue the same. The Ambassador Husnan Bey Fananie thanked for reception and detailed information. Emphasizing the common religion and similar cultural values of our nations, the Ambassador said that he is hopeful for further development of the existing relations between the two countries in various fields. He underlined that during the diplomatic mission in our country he will spare no effort to enhance our bilateral ties.
