The Republic of Korea plans to carry out project related to IDPs

On June 7, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, Chairman of Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid Mr. Ali Hasanov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea Kim Chang-gyu and the Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency Office in Azerbaijan Choi Yonjae. Ali Hasanov thanked to the Ambassador for taking part in the visit of diplomatic representatives and heads of international organizations to Jojug Marjanli village, arranged by the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Emphasizing that the cooperation between our countries on all areas was established on the good grounds, the Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian and development projects carried out by Korea’s Oriental Medical Hospital operating in our country, “For you” International Humanitarian Public Union, the Embassy of Korea in Azerbaijan and Korean International Cooperation Agency related to our compatriots displaced from our native lands as a result of the conflict, and mentioned that the cooperation on this area has a great importance. The Ambassador Kim Chang-gyu mentioned rapid economic development in Azerbaijan, great international reputation of the government of Azerbaijan in a short period and highly appreciated the active and peaceful policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Referring to the similarities between our countries in various fields, including cultural issues, the Ambassador expressed his confidence that the establishment of union between the countries belonging to Altai language group will give better results. Korean diplomat highlighted that his country will make every efforts for fair settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the efforts will be increased for this purpose. The Ambassador Kim Chang-gyu said that the projects implemented by them for supporting IDPs in the past give better results now and further actions are planned to take in the current year. Noting the establishment of commission related to the cooperation between two countries, the Ambassador mentioned that relevant works are carried out in the areas of healthcare, agriculture, information technologies and tourism too. Talking about the socio-political processes in the world, Ali Hasanov stated that the solidarity of the countries belonging to Altai language group would be more efficient. Today the powerful countries show their powers in the world and fight to own new geographical areas, natural resources, especially energy resources. And small counties, nations and innocent people suffer from all these as a result. But the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev always pursues a peaceful policy, hails countries to solidarity and carries out cooperation policy together with these countries. The IV Islamic Solidarity Games recently held in our country proved it once again.
