Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency’s Office in Azerbaijan visited the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs Fuad Huseynov met with Choi Yonjae, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency’s Office in Azerbaijan, on May 19. At the meeting noting that economic and political relations between Azerbaijan and Korea have entered a new stage in the recent years, F.Huseynov highly appreciated the implementation of humanitarian projects by Korean specialists in the solution of social problems of IDPs in our country. Giving detailed information to the Korean guests about Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the problem of refugees and IDPs more than 1 million 200 thousand as a result of this conflict and measures taken thanks to the regular care and attention of Mr. President in this area to improve their social and housing conditions and such other issues, F.Huseynov also mentioned that Azerbaijan would have faced with humanitarian crisis if UN agencies, several countries, various international humanitarian organizations didn’t provide assistance to our country in the initial period of such serious problems. At the meeting it was noted that humanitarian assistance provided to the refugees and IDPs in our country by Korean humanitarian organizations had a great importance too at that time and it was stated that gradually increasing its economic opportunities Azerbaijan has undertaken to settle the problems of citizens living as refugees and IDPs and has become a role model for countries around the world facing similar problems in this regard. At the end the guest expressed his gratitude for the comprehensive answers to their questions and warm welcome.
