Korean specialists will restore underground water-supply systems in the territories where the IDPs settled

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs Fuad Huseynov met with the Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency Office in Azerbaijan Mr. Choi Yonjae on February 21. At the meeting which was also attended by expert group sent on a mission from Korea to discuss the feasibility study of the project offered on “Integrated agricultural development in the territories where the IDPs settled through restoring underground water-supply systems in Azerbaijan” aimed at strengthening of socio-economic reintegration of IDPs, noting that economic, political relations have entered a new phase between Azerbaijan and Korea in the recent years F.Huseynov also described the implementation of such humanitarian projects by Korean specialists to resolve social problems of IDPs in the country as an example of what was said. First of all F.Huseynov gave detailed information to Korean guests on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the problem related to the refugees and IDPs more than 1 million 200 thousand arising as a result of the conflict, the activities carried out thanks to the regular care and attention of Mr. President to this field to improve their social-housing conditions and on other similar issues. He also stated that without the help of UN agencies, several countries, and various humanitarian organizations to our country in initial period of such severe problems, Azerbaijan would face a humanitarian catastrophe. During the discussions with the delegation of Korean specialists, it was informed that, the delegation visiting our country related to the project has already begun the investigations in the regions and at the meetings with IDPs, they have also positively assessed the implementation of this project. After all, the guests expressed their gratitude for comprehensive answers to their questions and the warm reception.
