Pharmaceutical factory founded in Baku is one of important projects being implemented within non-oil sector in Azerbaijan. At the same time, this is an obvious example of successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran. These statements were said on January 17 by Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs at the meeting with delegation led by Ali Rabii, Minister for cooperation, labour and social welfare of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Deputy Prime Minister said that relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and Azerbaijan Republic were developing day by day. “Iranian government and its nation are friends and brothers for us. We share the same religion, at the same time, there are many similarities in our languages, traditions, history and culture. "- expressed Ali Hasanov. Ali Hasanov, who emphasized the special role of the great leader Haydar Aliyev in reaching the high level of relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran, noted that these relations were successfully carried on by the administration of President Ilham Aliyev. Mutual visits of Presidents of both countries have further increased the development of our relations. Deputy of Prime Minister who noted that the Iranian companies involved in many projects in Azerbaijan, said: "Today Azerbaijan is developing dynamically. While in Azerbaijan poverty rate was 49 percent in 2003, today it has dropped to 5 percent. Dependence of our economy on petroleum has reduced considerably. In country more than 70 percent of gross domestic products are produced in non-oil sector. One of the main objectives of Azerbaijan is to turn from developing country into developed country. This is the main target of President of Azerbaijan Republic and we will achieve it.” Emphasizing that President Ilham Aliyev is carrying out independent policy based on the national interests of the people of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov has noted that our countries have the same attitudes in international affairs and defend each other. Presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan often meet, make mutual visits. Although there are forces trying to disrupt relations between the two countries, they will not achieve their desires. Only problem of Azerbaijan is the unsettled Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. As a result of the occupation of our lands there are more than 1 million refugees and displaced persons. Although international organizations made many decisions and resolutions to settle conflict, none of them had been complied. In international events, especially in the UN events in which Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were discussed, Islamic Republic of Iran had always approached positively to the objective work of Azerbaijan and demonstrated its support for Azerbaijan during voting. Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to humanitarian organizations such as Iran's Imam Khomeini Relief Committee and Red Crescent Society (“Hilal Ahmar”) for their assistance when our republic suffered from Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, economic condition was difficult. It was noted that Red Crescent Society of Iran first extended its humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijan and set up 7 tent camp in Bilasuvar, Saatli and Sabirabad region and up to 50 thousand IDPs settled in these camps temporarily. In these difficult times, economic conditions of Azerbaijan were in very low level. "Currently, we are experiencing a difficult period. As President Ilham Aliyev mentioned, today Islamic solidarity is required. President Ilham Aliyev declared this year as "Year of Islamic Solidarity". Azerbaijan is a tolerant country. Unlike Armenia, people of different religions live in peaceful and kind environment in our country. They have equal rights with citizens of Azerbaijan", Deputy of Prime Minister expressed. Ali Hasanov confidently expressed that relations between Azerbaijan and Iran would further develop. Minister for cooperation, labor and social welfare of Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Rabii who was gratitude for hospitality, expressed that the delegation, accompanying him, includes the Iranian parliament's influential individuals, members of friendship group, committee leaders, members of presidium: "It is indicator of the desire of Iran to develop the relations with Azerbaijan. We are very happy to see the development of Azerbaijan day by day, the work of renovation, the construction of new buildings, the improvement of people's welfare ". Rabii Ali who emphasized the importance of further development of cooperation, said: "There is great potential for the development of relations in the humanitarian sphere. We are ready to expand cooperation on rehabilitation of the disabled, prostheses preparation, health centers and other directions. Great work is being done in the field of improvement of transport and road infrastructure, joint projects are being realized. Azerbaijan route is reliable and safe direction for us. At present, construction works of Rasht-Astara (Azerbaijan)-Astara (Iran) railway line are ongoing. This will lead to create employment opportunities, as well as to take advantage of these routes, and earn income for people. At the same time, there are real opportunities for cooperation in the field of passenger and freight transportation through the sea. In meeting, developing of economic, humanitarian cooperation and issues on mutual interests have been discussed.
