French senators have visited the State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and IDPs

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the chairman of the State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, chairman of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov has met with the delegation led by the chairman of the France-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Senate of the Republic of France Andre Reichardt on September 14. Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov has informed delegation about Azerbaijan realities, Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, history of the problem and the situation of Refugees and IDPs in our country. Deputy Prime Minister has mentioned that 20 percent of our lands - Nagorno-Karabakh and 7 adjacent administrative regions were occupied as a result of military aggression of Armenian armed forces against Azerbaijan, our 1 million 200 thousand compatriots have become refugees and IDPs, our national and cultural resources have been plundered and all the infrastructure was destroyed. Aggressive policy of Armenia has also been condemned in the decisions and resolutions adopted by the OSCE, PACE, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement and other international organizations. Unfortunately, these decisions and resolutions are still on paper. Referring to the biased resolution of the European Parliament on Azerbaijan, Deputy Prime Minister said: "The European Parliament has adopted a groundless resolution against Azerbaijan. We extensively discussed that biased resolution at the State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and IDPs today. In the event, two appeals were adopted on behalf of refugees and IDPs living in Azerbaijan - one of them to the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and other to the European Parliament. In the appeal of more than one million two hundred thousand Refugees and IDPs who were forcibly expelled from their native lands as a result of expansionist policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan, the resolution on Azerbaijan adopted by the European Parliament in September 10, 2015 is unambiguously condemned. Why not to condemn? The European Parliament has no authorities to adopt a resolution on Azerbaijan. Its biased step is a clear interference with the internal affairs of our country". The chairman of the France-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Senate, Andre Reichardt has said that the purpose of the visit to our country is to further strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and France in all fields, including the fields of economics and tourism. The chairman of the friendship group has noted with regret that, 20 percent of Azerbaijan lands have been under occupation for many years. This problem should be solved before talking about human rights. Unfortunately, there is nothing on Azerbaijan in the resolution adopted by the European Parliament. This resolution shouldn't overshadow the solution of fundamental problem. As European countries, we must work in two directions. First of all, occupied lands must be liberated, and then we shall talk about the human rights. Resolutions on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict of UN Security Council must be implemented. Deputy Chairman of the friendship group, Nathalie Goulet said that we talk about politics in many cases, but we forget the pain of people suffering from the conflict. As you mentioned, today Europe is really helpless in the face of 100-200 thousand refugees. But the situation with the management of this field is very good in Azerbaijan.
