On April 9, Deputy Chairman of Dovlatqachqincom Fuad Huseynov met with the delegation of Group of Rapporteurs on Democracy of the Committee of Ministers of the European Council led by the head of the department of the Council of Europe on political affairs Alexander Gessel. At the meeting, the guests were given detailed information regarding Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, history of the problem and the situation of refugees and internally displaced persons in our country. Deputy Chairman of the Committee brought to the attention that as a result of military aggression by Armenian armed forces against Azerbaijan, 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory -Nagorno Karabakh and 7 adjacent regions were occupied, over one million and two hundred thousand compatriots became refugees and internally displaced persons. OSCE Minsk Group-mediated negotiations that lasted more than 20 years have not yielded any results. The guest who visited Azerbaijan noted that he is informed about Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its results, refugees and internally displaced persons in our country. But, the guest who expressed his gratitude due to information obtained during his visit, also brought to the attention that this conflict is a very serious problem for the region.
