Chaloka Beyani: “It is already time to resolve Nagorno Karabakh (or Mountainous Karabakh) conflict” .

During the meetings with refugees and internally displaced persons, all of them expressed their desire to return to their native homelands. I think that it is already time to resolve Nagorno Karabakh (or Mountainous Karabakh) conflict. It requires certain efforts of international community. UN Special Rapporteur on The Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Chaloka Beyani said these words at a press conference on 23 May held in Baku. Chaloka Beyani noted his visit to the areas where refugees and IDPs settled and witnessed the works done by the government of Azerbaijan to improve the living conditions of refugees and IDPs. After the visit I will hold an unofficial meeting with the members of UN Security Council and all the issues will be reflected in my report. The main attention should be focused on the diplomatic dialogue. Organizations interested in peace in the world should also be involved in the contribution of stability in region. Sincere attitude of people in Azerbaijan made favorable impressions on me. I would like these people not to bear the burden of being internally displaced person. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee on deals of the Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Mr. Ali Hasanov said that UN Special Rapporteurs on the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons visited our country several times and reports that they prepared have no results. Ali Hasanov stressed that sooner or later these reports, statements will have an impact. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that U.S. co-chair underwent an attack by 200 people when expressing an opinion about Madrid Principles during the visit of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to Armenia and said that the issue of mutual trust has always been violated by Armenia. Ali Hasanov: “The position of President Ilham Aliyev noting “Azerbaijan will not compromise Armenian an inch of its land” is also an unambiguous position of Azerbaijan people. Quick understanding and constructive position is in favor of Armenia. Yet they are losing side. Yet Armenia is losing side. We would like every international organization to approach this problem objectively and fairly. We want and demand UN to fulfill the adopted resolutions. And we want OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs to clarify this: Why do they meet refugees in Armenia, get acquainted with their living conditions but why do not they do the same in Azerbaijan? Ali Hasanov expressed his hope for the true reflection of each reality in the report of UN Special Rapporteur Chaloka Beyani regarding to his visit to the region.
