UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of internally displaced persons, Chaloka Beyani got acquainted with the neighborhood built for displaced family in Masazir settlement of Absheron district on 22 May. Visitor was informed about the condition created in the neighborhood for 760 internally displaced families. It was noted that administrative building, school, 280-seat kindergarten community center, dispensary etc. were built for the Executive Power of Zangilan district. At first, visitor got acquainted with the condition created in school No. 33 for students to get education. It was mentioned that all conditions created in 540- seat school for students in order to get higher education. Then visitor got acquainted with the 280- seat kindergarten in neighborhood. It was reported that kindergarten was equipped with necessary appliances for the training and education of children. Chaloka Beyani got acquainted with the condition created in the flat of displaced person Piriyev Elnur. Homeowner told about the conditions created for IDPs and mentioned that their greatest desire is to return to their native lands. Then UN official met with the head of executive power of district Ramiz Hasanov. Visitor was informed about the works done to improve the living conditions of refugees and IDPs. It was noted that improvement of the living conditions of refugees and IDPs is always in the spotlight of Azerbaijan. Chaloka Beyani also visited No.1 hostel of Management and Technology College of Baku in the area of Binagadi district. Deputy Chairman of State Committee On Deals Of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Garay Farhadov people displaced from their native lands temporarily settled in different buildings such as kindergartens, unfinished constructions, sanatoriums and hostels. 15 thousand family- nearly 70 thousand people live in difficult conditions in 262 hostels of Baku. Chaloka Beyani was in the family of displaced person from Fuzuli district Abbas Aliyev and was informed that 5 people live in a room of 16 2 km. Homeowner stressed that our only desire is to return to our native lands. We agree to live in peace with Armenians. UN Special Rapporteur shared his own expressions and said: “Today the solution of the problems of internally displaced persons is of great importance. All people who live in such difficult conditions almost 20 years want to return to their native lands. New settlements built for internally displaced persons are important in terms of the provision of their necessary living conditions.”
