Delegation of the members of Turkish Grand National Assembly and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce visited the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, chairman of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Assistance Mr. Ali Hasanov met with a delegation of members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce on 7 April. Ali Hasanov spoke of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations and stated that this day the relations between the two countries were founded upon friendship and brotherhood in all fields. Ali Hasanov gave broad information to the guests about Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts and their dissensions. It was noted that 20 percent of our lands has been occupied, more than one million compatriots have become refugees and internally displaced persons, the national cultural heritage has been plundered as a result of Armenia’s military aggression. Ali Hasanov highlighted that all Turkish and Muslim world countries should fight together against Armenian aggressors. It was noted that this day Armenians produce narcotic drugs in the occupied territories. Terrorist groups dangerous for the world conduct trainings there. Simultaneously, these territories are used as transit for the transportation of narcotic drugs. The Government of Azerbaijan has spent 5.4 billion USD in the last 20 years in order to solve the social problems of the refugees and internally displaced persons. Ali Hasanov mentioned that the first humanitarian assistance has been provided namely by a number of humanitarian organizations of Turkey for our refugees and internally displaced compatriots who were expelled from their home lands as a result of the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflicts. Ali Hasanov noted that the international community should demonstrate determination to resolve the conflict and stated regretfully that the process of negotiations ongoing for more than 20 years brokered by the OSCE Minsk Group still yielded no results. The member of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and the chairman of the delegation Ozturk Oran made a speech in the meeting and underlined that The Khojaly genocide is the crime committed against humanity. It was emphasized that the culprits must be punished in accordance with the international law to prevent recurrence of such brutal genocide. Ozturk Oran provided information on Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and stated that the organization is one of the world’s largest non-governmental organizations. Deputy of Justice and Development Party Seyit Erchelik and others making speech stressed the significance of joint activity in informing the world community about the realities of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan.
