Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan got acquainted with the living conditions of IDPs.

The ambassador of The State of Israel to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz got acquainted with the living conditions of IDPs on 14 June. Firstly, the Israeli diplomat visited the dormitory No.2 of Baku Management and Technology College in Darnagul campus. The deputy chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs Garay Farhadov brought to the attention that, the historical lands of Azerbaijan have been under the Armenian occupation for more than 20 years, more than 1 million Azerbaijanis have become refugees and IDPs. It was mentioned that Azerbaijan-Armenia, Noagorno Karabakh conflict caused a large amount of damage to our country. People displaced from their native lands for many years still live as refugees and IDPs. It was reported that 78 modern blocks were established, more than 140 thousand of people were moved to the new houses, educational, health, communication and cultural centers were built, appropriate infrastructure was created on the basis of tasks assigned by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in order to improve social, living conditions of refugees and IDPs. At present, the works are being conducted, the new buildings are being built, and blocks are being established in order to solve the problems and improve the living conditions of refugees and IDPs. Inquiring about the condition of the dormitory, the ambassador saw the room where lived the family of IDP Abbas Aliyev from Fuzuli region and got closely acquainted with their problems. Then the ambassador R. Harpaz was in the newly established block for 1440 IDPs in Mushvigabad village of Garadagh region. It was brought to the attention of the diplomat who got acquainted with the block that, 211of 1440 apartments are one-room, 659 are two-room, 429 are three-room, 141are four-room. There had also been constructed community center, administrative building, first aid center, post office and two-exit fire department in the territory. The ambassador was at the house of IDP Nazila Taghiyeva from Aghdam region. Speaking about their desire to return to their homeland, Nazila Taghiyeva expressed her gratitude to the head of our state for the created condition. Israeli diplomat visited 1300-seat senior secondary school No. 33 of Aghdam region. It was reported that all necessary conditions were created in this school with the modern teaching equipments for training and education. This proves once again that, Azerbaijan famous for its natural resources has determined the development of human capital as the main factor with the use of these resources. The book about “Ethnic cleansing in Armenia and the information about 1 million refugees and IDPs formed as a result of the occupation of 20 % of Azerbaijani territories by Armenian armed forces (1988-2011)” and the discs of film about the conflict were presented to the Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan.
