The State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs held a board meeting in regard to results of 2012 and goals of 2013 chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, chairman of the Committee - Ali Hasanov. There was stated that in 2012, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev thrice met with IDPs in different regions and took part in opening ceremonies of new settlements built for them. At the same time, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed 2 decrees and orders for improving social and living conditions and solution of the problems of refugees and IDPs last year, and 17 orders and decisions were made by the Cabinet of Ministers. The personnel of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs gained great successes in all fields according to the objectives arising out of these decrees, orders, decisions, and the “State Program for improving living conditions and increasing employment of refugees and IDPs” and Annexes to it approved by the relevant order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. While discussing the issues on the agenda at the board meeting, there was stated that the president’s care and attention to refugees and IDPs in solution of their problems proves that every step, signed decrees and orders have led to fulfilment of comprehensive actions along with setting goals before the personnel for settlement of their problems, especially social and living ones. They noted that the last year was memorable for the staff and IDPs. 9 five-storied residential buildings for 525 IDP families in Goranboy, district for 423 IDP families in Shaki, new block for 1440 IDP families in Mushfigabad, Garadagh were put into use last year. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev had personally taken part in opening of these residential areas and settlements. Besides, 10 five-storied residential buildings with social and technical infrastructural facilities for 560 families in Aghjabadi, new districts for 195 IDPs settled in Finnish-type settlement in Berde and 325 families, at the initial stage, out of 550 IDPs settled in Finnish-type settlement in Imishli were put into use of IDPs. There was built a new residential area for 502 IDP families settled in Finnish-type settlement and school building in Mingachevir and a new district for 760 IDP families in Masazir, Absheron. In 2012, 871 IDP families were at the expense of the allocations by Ministry of Finance moved to flats recorded as state property in connection with state needs and meeting all necessary conditions. So, 4553 IDP families composing of 22765 members moved to new flats and houses in 2012. While discussing the activities to be carried out in the current year at the board meeting, it was noted that construction of high buildings and districts would continue in order to improve social and living conditions of IDPs till their return to their native lands. Speakers, discussing the issues on the agenda at the board meeting, underlined that according to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s resolute position in solution of Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the territories would be liberated and all compatriots would return to their native lands. However, the staff will mobilize all its forces to fulfil the goals set by the President to improve social and living conditions of IDPs, and take all opportunities. Expressing his attitude towards the issue included in the agenda, the deputy chairman of the committee Ali Hasanov stated that the president’s care and attention to this sphere increases responsibility of the staff and sets significant goals. Working plan of the committee for 2013 was discussed and approved at the board meeting, as well.
