Conference regarding improvement of living conditions and increasing employment of refugees and IDPs

On January 11, there was held a conference chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs – Ali Hasanov, dedicated to carried out activities in 2012 on execution of actions provided in “State Program for improving living conditions and increasing employment of refugees and IDPs” and annexes to this program approved upon the orders No 2475, dated 31 October 2007 and No 1346, dated 21 February 2011 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and actions expected to be implemented in 2013. Making a speech at the conference, Ali Hasanov gave detailed information about successful results of reforms in the republic, foreign and home policy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the actions implemented for improving living conditions of refugees and IDPs. 9 five-storied residential buildings constructed for 525 IDP families in Goranboy region, a settlement built for 423 IDP families in Shaki, and new block for 1440 IDP families in Mushfigabad – Garadagh was put into use last year. In addition, 10 560-family residential buildings with all necessary social and technical infrastructure in Agjabadi, new settlements for 195 families settled for short period in Finnish-type settlements in Barda and 325 families (for the first stage) out of 550 IDP families settled for short period in Finnish-type settlements in Imishli were built and put into operation. There was built new block for 502 IDP families temporarily settled in Finnish-type settlement in Mingachevir and school buildings, and new settlement for 760 IDP families in Masazir, Absheron. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that 871 IDP families were taken into state property in regard to state needs at the expense of funds allocated by the Ministry of Finance in 2012, and moved to flats meeting all necessary conditions to live. At the same time, construction of 28 unfinished houses belonging to Ahiska Turks was completed and individual houses were built in Goygol for 7 IDP families from Lachin at the expense of investment funds intended in the state budget. So, 4553 families consisting of 22765 people moved to new flats and houses in 2012. Besides, during the year, related with fulfilment of the State Program and its annexes, relevant actions were carried out for preparing project-estimate and planning documentation in connection with construction of residential districts for 1500 families in Ganja, 300 in Gazakh, 866 in Barda, settlements for 45 families in Ismayilli, 101 in Hajigabul, 230 in Saatli, 612 in Fuzuli, 440 in Sabirabad, 932 in Aghdam, 466 in Beylagan, 600 in Goygol, building Gobu city in Absheron with the objective of moving IDP families temporarily settled in hostels in Baku and other facilities, also construction of residential buildings with 155 flats in Gabala, 43 in Balakan, 80 in Ramana, Absheron. Touching upon the goals in the current year, Ali Hasanov stated that 8 districts and new blocks together with all necessary social and technical infrastructure with total area of 260 thousand sq meters for 3941 thousand families, also blocks consisting of 5-storied 25 buildings in Ganja for 1500 IDP families, 5-storied 15 buildings in Barda for 866 IDP families, settlements for 758 families in Masazir, Absheron, 225 in Imishli, 200 in the territory near “Umid” settlement in Garadagh, 45 in Ismayilli are expected to be built in 2013, as well as 5-storied residential buildings for 155 families in Gabala and 43 in Balakan. Moreover, it is planned to construct 97 houses in Saatli, 32 in Oghuz, 13 in Beylagan, 7 in Goygol for Ahiska Turks at the expense of investment funds in the state budget of 2013. The Deputy Prime Minister also underlined successful results of foreign and home policy implemented under direction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Ali Hasanov gave instructions to heads of construction companies in relation to increase of quality of carried out activities and acceleration of construction.
