The renowned Japanese opera singer Masashi Tomosugi and students from the Gulabli village music school in Aghdam performed the romance “Sevgili Janan”, composed by the founder of Azerbaijani professional music, Uzeyir Hajibayli, with lyrics by the great poet Nizami Ganjavi. The project was organized by the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons and supported by the Japanese Embassy in Azerbaijan.
The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of cultural ties between our countries, provide opportunities for the younger generation to become familiar with opera and classical music and positively influence their modern artistic and aesthetic tastes.
It is worth noting that this is Masashi Tomosugi’s second visit to Azerbaijan. Last year, he performed a concert program for former internally displaced persons at the “Gobu Park” residential complex in the Garadagh district of the capital.
We present the video clip of this interesting and unforgettable performance.
