A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the “Bakcell” mobile network operator.
According to the memorandum signed by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee, Fuad Huseynov, and the Sales Director of “Bakcell” Hamid Imanov, the mobile network operator, with extensive experience in the telecommunications sector in the country, is supporting the implementation of measures under the First State Program on the Great Return.
Starting from April of this year, “Bakcell” has been providing support to returning IDP families by offering them free SIM cards and new tariff packages for their use. By paying a service fee of 2 AZN, these former IDPs can communicate with each other for free.
It is planned to provide each returning family with free SIM cards with their consent.
It should be noted that in the initial stage, the process of distributing free numbers to over 1100 families who have returned to Fuzuli city and Zabukh village in the Lachin region, including those who have previously returned to their homeland, has been carried out and is ongoing. Initially, each family was provided with 2 SIM cards. Later, it is planned to increase the number of these SIM cards for these families (up to 5 numbers) upon their request.
