Development perspectives of cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the World Bank have been discussed

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Mr. Ali Hasanov met with Henry Kerali, newly appointed regional director on South Caucasus of the World Bank on August 7. Ali Hasanov congratulated H. Kerali on the occasion of the appointment of a new position, expressed his confidence for the development of further co-operation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the World Bank.Deputy Prime Minister spoke about Armenia-Azerbaijan, the history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, works done in the direction of solving social problems of refugees and internally displaced persons in our country and he noted that good experience was gained during the period of the cooperation of Azerbaijan with the World Bank. It was also noted that several successful projects only in the direction of improving the welfare of refugees and internally displaced persons were carried out with World Bank and these works are being continued. Ali Hasanov stated that in spite of the gradual increase of the financial resources of our country, credit co-operation with reliable and experienced international financial institutions is being continued. This is an indicator of both the strengthening of the established cooperation and high confidence of both parties to each other. H. Kerali highly appreciated the support of the Government of Azerbaijan and The State Committee for Internally Displaced Persons for the realization of the World Bank programs. World Bank official said that measures implemented by the government of Azerbaijan in the direction of improving the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons are an example for the whole world. H. Kerali noted that he will do his best for further development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank. Other issues of mutual interest was also discussed and exchange of views were carried out on joint projects and events at the meeting.
