Some media outlets have spread information that the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons allegedly owes more than one million manats to another organization.
In response, we would like to clarify that the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons has no debts to any organization for communal services.
Internally displaced persons make payments for communal services based on subscription contracts and respective meter readings to the organizations providing those services.
Instead of payments for communal and other services, IDPs receive a monthly allowance from the state budget, as stipulated by the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 23, 2017.
The State Committee's relevant department, local representations, and Housing and Communal Service Areas regularly conduct informational and promotional activities among IDPs regarding the proper utilization of the designated
monthly allowance
